Vancouver Educator Astronaut's Launch
Posted on Tuesday, March 02 @ 18:15:29 MST by rick

For All Anonymous writes "Educator Astronaut,Dorothy (Dottie) Metcalf-Lindenburger, a former Vancouver School District High School Science Teacher is ready to launch on NASA mission STS-131 on April 5th, 2010.

The Vancouver School District School Board recently passed a Proclamation for the weeks of March 15 to March 26 as "Discover Space Week" in Dottie's honor. The district plans to highlight the importance of math and science education prior to the launch of STS-131.

The Vancouver Education Association "Teacher in Space" committee would like to encourage fellow Washington Teachers to follow our districts lead and share in Dottie's adventure during the first weeks of April. This is an exciting time for Washington Educators."
